hibiscus sharbat

We have a pretty big hibiscus tree in our garden and every day we get a lot of hibiscus flowers. Most of the hibiscus flowers we use in pujas and from the remaining flowers, we make this delicious hibiscus juice. This hibiscus drink is a regular in my home. Red hibiscus(Hibiscus rosa-sinensis) known as ‘kempu dasavala’ in Kannada and other names include hardy hibiscusrose of sharon, rose mallow and tropical hibiscus.

Have you ever tried using hibiscus in your kitchen? If not, I urge you to make it this summer. Just find fresh or dried hibiscus flower and make the sharbat in no times. Call it hibiscus juice or tea, the drink is refreshing naturally coloured with a sweet-tart combination and make you addictive that whenever you sea a hibiscus flower, the first thing to come to your mind will be hibiscus juice. If you have got more flowers, make a concentrated flower syrup and store it in the refrigerator. You can make the drink any time if you have the concentrate.

My favourite part of drinking a glass of hibiscus sharbat at home is the colour of course. It has a gorgeous deep crimson shade that’s hard to beat. And so perfect right now because afternoons here are getting warmer and a chilled glass of this is super welcome.
