Sesame Seeds Juice | Ellu Juice Recipe | तिल का जूस | Til Juice | Ellu Panaka | Yellu Juice with a detailed photo and video recipe. Homemade sesame seeds juice is the most favourite out of all summer drinks over there because it is so refreshing and nutritious. Ellu juice is prepared using sesame seed, jaggery, cardamom and water.

For the ages, our ancestors have been enjoying this rich sesame seeds juice during hot summer days. Chilled sesame seeds juice or ellu juice is prepared and sold in many shops in karavali region of Karnataka, especially during the hot summer days you can find or get to drink this tasty and creamy juice.

This healthy and enjoyable sesame seeds juice will beat the sweltering heat during summer. Those who are lactose intolerant can prepare it and enjoy it with or without the jaggery and it is a great way to get fussy/picky eaters to get their dose of goodness. The most important things about this juice is we are using jaggery here not white sugar. Besides just helping to sweeten your sweet dishes in a healthy manner, jaggery also has minerals that provide the most health benefits.

This is easy to prepare a drink that doesn’t require any pre-preparation time. The colour however is dull and may not be very eye-pleasing as it is a combination of jaggery, sesame seeds and water. however, the taste can be altered by increasing or decreasing the amount of water used ( if you prefer it in a diluted form ). Enjoy it chilled on a hot summer day.

Quick, healthy and refreshing summer drink prepared using sesame seed, jaggery, cardamom and water.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup white sesame seed
  • ½ cup jaggery
  • 2 pod cardamom
  • 4 cup water includes the water used for grinding

Instructions

  • Pick and clean sesame seeds. i have used white sesame seeds.
  • Rinse the sesame seeds under running water.
  • Take a mixer jar and add cleaned sesame seeds and also add jagger and cardamom.
  • Add the required amount of water and grind into a fine paste.
  • Transfer the ground sesame juice into the strainer and strain the juice and discard the residue.
  • Now add the required amount of water and mix well. You can adjust the sweetness and water level as per your taste.
  • In serving glass add some ice cubes and pour prepared juice and serve chilled.

Notes

  • It tastes best without milk too but it’s your choice if you want to add milk you can use dairy milk or if you vegan try it with almond or soya milk.
  • Jaggery can be adjusted as per your taste buds.
  • It tastes awesome when chilled.
  • I have used white sesame seeds. You can use black sesame seeds also.  

How to make sesame seeds juice with step by step photo:

  • Pick half cup white sesame seeds and clean it.

  • Rinse the sesame seeds under water and remove all impurities.

  • Take a mixi jar and add rinsed sesame seeds and also add half cup of jaggery.

  • Add 2 pods of cardamom to it and add around 1 cup of water.

  • Grind into fine paste.

  • Transfer the ground sesame juice into the strainer and strain the juice and discard the residue.
  • Now add three more cups of water and mix well. adjust the water and sweetness according to your taste and desired consistency.
  • In a serving glass add some ice cubes, pour prepared sesame seed juice and serve chilled.
