Tulsi - Turmeric tea is a warm and soothing blend of fresh turmeric and holy basil leaves. This tea provides good immunity and it just tastes good!

Ingredients

  • 5 holy basil leaves
  • ½ tsp peppercorns
  • 3 clove
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 2 cup water

Instructions

  • Pick some fresh holy basil leaves and wash them under running water. Keep it aside.
  • Take a mortar pestle, take ½ tsp of peppercorns and 3 cloves and crush into a rough powder, keep it aside.
  • In a saucepan, take 2 cups of water and add 5 holy basil leaves and prepared pepper - clove spice mix, also add ½ tsp of turmeric powder.
  • Mix well, boil for 2 - 3 minutes or until flavours are absorbed well.
  • Strain the drink and add 1 tsp of honey and stir well.
  • Finally, tulasi - turmeric tea is ready to sip.

Notes

  • I have used turmeric powder but you can also use fresh turmeric pods. The reason I choose turmeric powder as it is more common in our kitchen.
  • Using fresh spices makes the drinks flavourful.
  • You can use jaggery instead of honey while boiling and increase the amount of honey or jaggery for sweetness.
  • Immunity booster drink tastes good and is beneficial when served hot.
